Why do my tennis shoes make a whoosh sound?

I have a pair of platform tennis shoes and when I walk they make a loud whoosh sound. It's not a thunk or a squeek, they whoosh. I've worn many kinds of sneakers before and it's not usual for them to make that sound. What causes them to do that?

Why do my tennis shoes make a whoosh sound?
Probably because inside of the platform is hallow and there is a small hole that lets air out of it every time you step on it, that is what many of my shoes do at least. It's nothing bad, hope this helps.
Reply:Becoz the floor which you wak is very very smooth and your tennis shoes are new...................
Reply:Does it have any air pockets? If it does, you probably popped the air pocket and thats why your shoes makes that sound.
Reply:because they are wet!
Reply:they have small holes in them which lets air come out i think their for like letting new air come in
