How to make white tennis shoes white again?

I have a pair of white leather tennis shoes that are really dirty. Soap and water only does so much. Is there any way to ‘bleach’ the dirt out and make them near white again. The inside of the shoe is navy blue so I hate to use bleach and inadvertantly bleach out the inside too.

How to make white tennis shoes white again?
There is a product called "Sneaker White". Which comes in a bottle similar to regular shoe polish. I have used this often and the results are great. It truely will return the white to your sneakers. Just use caution with application not to get any on the inside lining of the shoe, if colored.
Reply:Shout it out. Bleach will yellow them on the edges. Let the shout set for approx 30 minutes.
Reply:there is a product in most grocery stores called SHOE WHITE for that very purpose!
Reply:White shoe polish, a brush, and some elbow grease should do the trick.
Reply:My granny taught me this magic trick when I was a tom-boy (still am) in elementary school with my white leather %26amp; canvas athletic shoes. Wash them in washing machine w/ liquid automatic dishwasher soap/detergent..yep same one we use in the disherwasher--its very strong. When cycle ends washing, remove from washing machine %26amp; while wet, take a bottle of white shoe polish w/sponge on end %26amp; while shoes are WET polish them, let the polish set a few minutes and do it again, let them dry completely-not the dryer, but outside or set under the front of your fridge where the warm air flows out.
Reply:It sounds funny but try oven cleaner, spray on leave a few minutes and then whip off. I use it all the time...
Reply:you can buy trainer whitener.i have some and it is great. It is the same as black scuff remover.it comes in a bottle with a sponge at the top.you squeeze it and white liquid comes through the sponge and you wipe over your trainers with it. it really does work. You should be able to buy it in most good shoe shops.
Reply:TOTALLY Mr Clean Magic Erasers!!!...It was like they were made for cleaning white shoes...The leather AND the rubber!
Reply:Well, at my house we soak them in the washer in Tide with Bleach Alternative and then wash them on gentle. Dry in the sun. Maybe not the best for them, but it's either that or the trash can. Never lost a pair yet. They soften back up in a day or so. Give them a good coat of saddle soap after wards, then a coat of leather conditioner. Oh........you will smell so much better........
Reply:Umm i know this sound really weird. But furniture polish does wonders for white shoes!!!!!
