Is the shoe size (for men) the same for both, normal shoes (such as tennis shoes)and sandals?

I would like to buy a pair of Lacoste sandals on the internet, I really like them, the only problem is that the website only has 1 size avaialbe, size 12 (US). On normal shoes I'm size 10 or 10.5 (But, I purchased this PUMA tennis shoes on size 11 and they are kind of big, but not so much, and they dont look to big, this is why I'm asking about sizes). So my question is, when buying sandals, does the shoes size changes, or is it the same? Would size 12 sandals look to 'big' if I'm a normally size 10 or 10.5 (on normal shoes)?

Sizing is the same, but just like any manufacturer/designer, they will cut differently. Also, depending on the fabrication or the material itself, the shoe will fit differently which is why your Puma tennis shoes made out of canvas will fit differently from a pair of sandals that are made out of a rubber material. Also, depending on the profile and color of the sandal, it will appear bigger or smaller.
