Reply:I have done that... The combination that worked for me was washing them twice I use Tide with Downy in it and I let my clothes dry in the sun... I would go out through the day and spray them with Febreeze... I did that about five times in one day , and never smelled gas again... I hope this works good luck!!!

Have them measure for proper size, and if you are on your feet a lot, maybe go with nurse's shoes.
I wear steel toed boots at my job, and I just bought a new pair. My old ones lasted 8 YEARS, because I spent $150 on them. That's less that $20 per year, and it was totally worth it!

It's probably because your feet are getting and then staying wet from sweat (the shoes make your feet sweat, the socks get damp and hold the wetness against your skin). You may also have a fungal infection (athlete's foot) that can be aggrevated by warm, moist conditions (like being in sweaty socks), though usually this type of infection likes to hang out in between your toes, not on the top of your foot.
In any case, if socks and sneaks make your feet itch, there are lots of other shoes you can wear instead. Or, if you want to wear sneakers, you might try using a foot powder (drug stores will carry many types), or even regular underarm anti-perspirant to see if that helps keep you from sweating as much and keeps your skin drier. You can also buy socks at athletic stores (or in runners' catalogs) that are designed to wick away the wetness of sweat and keep it off your skin. They aren't cheap, but might be worth it for the sake of your comfort.

Reply:barricade series from adidas are the best...only downside is that its is heavier and has no ventilation but seems to never break. also any of the breathe free line from nike is also great. they are light and have great ventilation but the durability is not as good. plus both shoes has a 6 month outsole warranty that guarantees that if you break the soles of the shoes before 6 months they will replace one pair of the same shoe. its worth it because u spent a little bit more and get a great shoe.

Try to go to a sports and tennis store or proshop. They carry the best of the shoe companies extensive line. Chain stores like FootLocker have some great shoes, but some are junk and sell these just because of the cosmetic looks. Tennis mags like Tennis carry reviews of shoes and tell you what kind of player they are appropriate for. Once you get knowledgeble about the type of shoe that's best for you, you can shop around for the best deals if you stick with playing regularly and need several pairs. The most expensive model is rarely a good choice for the recreational player and it's more about hype.

This is annoying, it happens everywhere. I know only a few girls do it but still. What is a good reson to put a foot at the back of your tennis shoes and press until your foot comes half out or all the way and then you sit there. To me there is no reson to do this. You shouldnt do this because its not proper and not classy and shoes should be kept on in public. Sandals with back straps also, slipping the straps off your heels. But strap less shoes then, or dont do it at all

You're right: it is not proper. People should wear shoes or not wear shoes but not half wear shoes. It is like the strap of the dress that fall from the shoulder. Wear the dress properly or do not wear anything. It is like the hat that is worn front side back, or back side front...Clothing and shoes should be used properly in public places. If you want to wear your wardrobe all crooked, just stay home so I do not have to suffer the constant urge to adjust your stuff.

You're right: it is not proper. People should wear shoes or not wear shoes but not half wear shoes. It is like the strap of the dress that fall from the shoulder. Wear the dress properly or do not wear anything. It is like the hat that is worn front side back, or back side front...Clothing and shoes should be used properly in public places. If you want to wear your wardrobe all crooked, just stay home so I do not have to suffer the constant urge to adjust your stuff.

How can I tell a family member to quit using my razor, shaver and my tennis shoes?
This family member comes over a lot and uses my bathroom instead of the guest bathroom. I've closed my bedroom door and hidden all of our tennis shoes. This family member just so subborn and go in our bedroom to use the bathroom. I hate replacing razors and clean the shavers. Once this person uses our tennis shoes we kiss it good bye cuz it stinks when this person is done with it! Very annoying. I even try not to let this family member come over but yet comes over anyway!

A friend recently wrote on a pair of my tennis shoes with a ball point pen, and I can't get the writing off. I've tried scrubbing with soapy water and with pure bleach, but no luck.

I would try using cheap hair spray like Aqua Net. Dont' let it dry but let it sit till you see the ink start to run then scrub with a mild cleanser like Soft Scrub. You may have to repeat it several times. If it is still there you might try using a Clorox Bleach pen doing the same thing. Don't let it dry and scrub gently with a toothbrush.

Because the ends of soap molecule are attracted to oil and the oil is attracted to the shoes, so the soap will pull the oil and the oil will pull the pen marking and you shoe will be free of any pen marks. How can I remove Denim dye that bled on my new white tennis shoes?
I just got a pair of Nike Air Force Ones and am trying to keep them white (a feat I'm never able to do). I wore them with jeans that weren't worn often, but had been washed enough (so I thought at over a year and a half old). Otherwise, I wouldn't have done it. Well, there are now blue marks along the tops of the tennis shoes...
My question is, how can I remove the marks without turning the tennis yellow?

Why do some girls slip there feet in and out of shoes, with sandals with back straps or tennis shoes?
because its a habbit isnt a reson, how did this habbit happen. And I DO NOT need to know if you do it. Ideas why some do.

sandals? no. flip flops, like old navy's, might be ok. no safari sandals, though. if you wear socks, make sure they're pretty low-cut. i guess tennis shoes are ok... but try shoes like this. i think you'll like! they're puma.

Actually, it should be a compliment... tho'... we don't take the smell as a compliment. Don't want this to happen repeatedly in the future? Get your cat neutered as soon as possible. There is no 100% guarantee that he will stop spraying, but chances are good that after the neuter, he probably won't.
Water alone is not going to get the urine smell out. To get the smell out, you have to use a product or products that break down the enzymes that causes the smell. There is a product on the market that I will swear by. You can get it at this website: www.justrite.com That will work. If you can't wait to get it, there are other alternative methods.
It's been mentioned to use vinegar. I use apple cider vinegar in the wash. It's always worked well for me, too.
Or you can use this recipe:
Soak in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water, then allow to dry. The acidity of the vinegar will neutralize the ammonia in the cat urine.
When dry, apply a liberal amount of baking soda over the affected area then douce it with a quarter of a cup of hydrogen peroxide mixed with a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent. Work it in with a scrubbing brush or your fingers (be sure to wear rubber gloves) to dissolve the baking soda and work it in. Allow it to dry. Re-wash and dry normally. The smell will be gone.
The vinegar will neutralize the ammonia and the baking powder will remove the odor of the cat urine.
Important ::: Never use ammonia or ammonia-based products. The smell may attract the cat to that item or area and will encourage cats to urinate there again. Also, never ever use bleach on cat urine, it will only exacerbate the problem you already have.
One other suggestion? Set the shoes out in the sun for about two weeks or so. The sunlight and fresh air will also take the smell out, so I'm told. I've never tried this method myself.

Where do I find jeans that are the right length to wear with slim tennis shoes?
I am NOT short--I am 5"6'. The issue is...I bought a pair of Adidas Good Year tennis shoes and they are very slim. Most of the jeans that I own work with heels or even flip-flops, but I step on them in these shoes. A PAIR IN A "SHORT" LENGTH WILL NOT WORK--they look like high-waters on me. Are there any brands of jeans that are actually made to wear with things like ballet flats and slim tennis shoes???

We have a new gym coach(the old health teacher) and shes making us wear tennis shoes.The other coaches didnt.And she said if we dont then we will get written up.We are public.If we wanted to be told what to wear we would have signed up for private school!

Sometimes the reason coaches want you to have tennis shoes is to keep the surface of the gym floor nice. If hundreds of people walk across the floor and leave scuff marks everyday, that makes a lot of extra work for the janitors to do, and it could have been prevented by just wearing appropriate footwear. Another reason you should wear tennis shoes is that they are designed to support your foot when you are being active. Wearing other shoes could even make you more likely to be injured.
My advice: just do what the coach says. It will be easier to just change shoes each day for that class than to make a huge deal about it.

The other coach that didn't make the students dress out was not looking out for the best of the students or for his reputation as a coach. Students respect teachers that follow rules. They may not be your favorite teacher, but you will remember them and have a greater respect for them.
Now the new coach is having to reap the benefit of the old coach's leniency on not following the rules and making the students dress out/bring tennis shoes. Try not to give her a hard time.
4. I don't mean any offense at you personally, please understand, but the young people today really do not have a respect for those in authority. Unless someone is cursing at your or hitting your or otherwise majorly disrespecting you as a human being, young people need to learn to listen to their teachers, parents, counselors, employers, etc. High school is just the beginning. There are a TON of rules that you must follow in college, and not to mention what your employer asks you to do on the job.

How can I bleach out the canvas on white tennis shoes?
My four year old daughter got her brand new white tennis shoes muddy. The leather came out fairly clean, but the fabric parts are a dull tan. Is there something I can spray, to bleach them out white again?

Don't use bleach it will just turn the white canvas a yellowish color. I always use a whitening toothpaste anda old toothbrush and scrub them that way. Also as long as you don't use a quick source of heat (like a dryer) to dry them they won't be completely stained and you should be able to get the mud out.

I know he will have to go to the fitness center following his bypass surgery and rather than spending a fortune on a boquet of flowers which will die in 2 weeks, I am thinking about sending a pair of really nice tennis shoes to be exact Mizuno Nirvana sport shoes. Do you think that is appropriate? He is a friend of mine. He is married and has a family. I just think a lot of him and his wife and kids.

How do I get read of the squeaky sounds from my tennis shoes?
Two days ago, we had a rainstorm in my city. I walked on wet streets and through some small puddles throughout that day. Afterwards, I discovered that one of my tennis shoes made a squeaking sound. Two days later, the shoe still makes that sound.
The sole of my shoe is rubber, and the sound seems to be coming from a rubber part that is within the larger outside rubber part (think of a small circle, representing the squeaky area, within a large oval, representing the entire sole).
Is it as simple as drying it as thoroughly as possible? I thought two days would be plenty of time to dry. Any advice?

With the back strap sandals some will push the strap off there heels and slip out and in that way, with tennis shoes some will tie real loose and there heels pop out when they walk. Why? Others will take on foot and press on the heel of the shoes untill there feet come out and sit there with feet half out of the shoes.
