How do I clean my white tennis shoes?

My tennis shoes are pretty brand new. Yesterday, when I was skateboarding I accidentally brushed the front of my shoes on concrete. Now, it's a lil bit black and it's bothering me. How can I clean it?

If they are canvas, you can run them through the washing machine with detergent and a little bleach. (Clorox 2 if colored)

If they are leather, you need a good leather cleaner. I suggest going to a shoe repair shop. Don't use the crap from Walmart.
Reply:You can use soap(oxi clean is good) and water or use White shoe polish or run them through the washing machine then let them try in the sun
Reply:well if you want a quick clean get some laundry detergant and an old tooth brush and clean them up dont drench them just get a wet rag and wet them with the rag a little bit, then gently scrub with the tooth brush and wipe off theyll shine like new...
Reply:I wash tennis shoes in the washing machine all the time. One of my children was a cross country runner. He ran a race once that was so muddy with new shoes on, the mud pulled the shoe right off his foot. A spectator saw what happened and returned the shoe to him at the end of the race, which he finished running in his sock. I took that totally muddy shoe tossed it in the wash and it came out like new. The kids on his cross country team couldn't believe it was the same shoe. Funny story but true. Don't be afraid to wash your tennis shoes just like other laundry. You can air dry them or partially dry them in the dryer with some towels, so they are not so noisy. These were not cheap canvas shoes either.
Reply:White shoe polish.
