Can I use my old Spalding volleyball shoes for playing tennis?

They're an all white shoe, size three. I'm going to start tennis on Monday, and I need Tennis shoes. So I was wondering if my spalding (the brand) volleyball shoes would do the trick?

I wouldn't recommend it either. Only tennis shoes are designed for the lateral movements and toe support. Volleyball shoes are not designed for the type of movements you do in tennis. It's not just a matter of comfort; it's a matter of support as well as avoiding injury (like sprained ankles).
Reply:i wouldn't recommend it

tennis shoes are made specifically to help you move side to side and stutter stop. Even though volleyball shoes are similar, they are meant to be played indoors and will wear down fast. If you get tennis shoes, they will feel much better on the court.
Reply:They will suffice. They are court shoes, which is better than a running shoe. DON'T wear a running shoe no matter what - you'll turn your ankle. But if you keep playing you might want a tennis shoe cause those volleyball shoes will wear out quickly on a hard court.. Try tenniswarehouse.com or tennisexpress.com, holabirdsports.com, or eastbay.com - they all have some good shoes on sale.
