How Long Should You Keep/ Use Tennis Shoes?

I walk at least an hour and a half each day (1.30).

Now, my feet are starting to hurt, and my heel and I feel like the tennis shoe is wearing out. After how many months should I throw them out. Be honest in your answer. I can't afford $70 sneakers every few months.

Note: Are they making good sneakers like they used to? I mean they seem to not last long, are just good looking shoes, with a high price tag, and made in places much cheaper for labor purposes.

Shoes should feel comfortable from the start. And remember, shoes don't get "broken in", your feet are broken in to the shoes. Evidently your feet can't compensate. Try switching brands of shoes. I stand up all day long and my feet would always hurt. I switched to another brand that felt good on *my* feet, and they don't hurt anymore. I've had the same brand of shoes for 5 years now. I spend around $70 on a pair of shoes. My work environment is quite rough on shoes, I normally end up tearing them up before they would have needed to be replaced. Even still, they last about a year or so.
Reply:well if the plastic in the back is scraping the back of your heel it's about time to throw the pair out. most skater shoes are quite comfortable and provid cushion and ankle support. my favorites are dvs and dc and lakais are nice too.
Reply:Well, my mom has had her Nike tennis shoes for like 6 years and wears them all the time and they still look great! She has only had to fix the heels on them about two times with some shoe glue because the bottom of them was coming off. I would suggest some very comfy Nike's that will stick with you for a long time, you just have to look around and find that perfect show for yourself. Good luck!
Reply:Until they fall apart or you can get new ones on sale.
Reply:you should change your sneakers every time you grow out of the or they start to break
