Who invented tennis shoes and what was were they made for?
I think they were made for tennis hence the name tennis shoe
Reply:I don%26#039;t know who invented them........my guess a Pirate, because those rubber soles sure made it easier casting those riggin%26#039;s, and those canvas uppers dried better than leather, u know like sail cloth. We called em deck shoes. True story.

Then the nonslip soles became appealing to athletes, and along about early 1900%26#039;s wacking a ball back and forth over a net became popular in high social society type folk, and those rubber soles kept%26#039;em from falling on thier face, and because they had more time than a Pirate who has to hit the %26quot;deck%26quot; running, they put laces in them. So they where dubbed %26quot;tennis shoes%26quot; .

But until this day, in most all areas of athletics, the next man up to play is called the %26quot;man on deck%26quot;. Savvey?
