What is the best way to remove black tire rubber picked up at the school playground from white tennis shoes?

Anything I use to clean my child's white tennis shoes seems to deteriorate the "leather". Washing machine gets them clean, but wears them out too quickly.

Something that works excellent is the Mr. Clean magic erasers found at any store that has house hold products. All you do it wet it, ring it out and biff it over your shoes. It works great but wears out easy...you might want to get two.
Reply:polish remover should do the trick!
Reply:i agree with amy mr clean magic erasers work great to get scuff markes off of the wall and floor and even marker and everything GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Hey, good thing I came across your question. I have your answer.

I checked out toothpaste, machine washer, nail polish, alcohol, hair spray and all the other worthless products everyone told me to use. They all failed to meet my expectations.

Its 3 bucks, can last about a year or longer. Takes only 2 minutes to fully clean both pairs. 100% safe, and you probably have a can in your storage room right now.

Thats not all:

It works on suede shoes, all tennis, your bathroom, your car, a stain your your pants or shirt (no need to wash for your shirt again for one chocolate stain-just foam it :D )

Just spray-wait-wipe, this is a song, sing with me

Just spray-wait-wipe, Oh Yeah

Just spray-wait-wipe, Uh Huh

Just spray-wait-wipe, Okaayyy!

You have to excuse me, I haven't gotten over how good it is.
