why is it that my feet itcho after wearing socks and tennis shoe? The itch is usually on top of my feet, not on my sole. Can anyone let me know why this occur?
Everytime i wear socks and tennis shoes, my feet begins to itch badly.?
It's probably because your feet are getting and then staying wet from sweat (the shoes make your feet sweat, the socks get damp and hold the wetness against your skin). You may also have a fungal infection (athlete's foot) that can be aggrevated by warm, moist conditions (like being in sweaty socks), though usually this type of infection likes to hang out in between your toes, not on the top of your foot.
In any case, if socks and sneaks make your feet itch, there are lots of other shoes you can wear instead. Or, if you want to wear sneakers, you might try using a foot powder (drug stores will carry many types), or even regular underarm anti-perspirant to see if that helps keep you from sweating as much and keeps your skin drier. You can also buy socks at athletic stores (or in runners' catalogs) that are designed to wick away the wetness of sweat and keep it off your skin. They aren't cheap, but might be worth it for the sake of your comfort.
Good luck!
Reply:It may be your socks or the detergent you are using in washing them. Change your brand of detergent. Make sure you are wearing cotton socks. I had this happen once and I tied my shoes a lot more looser and it helped! It just may be they are too tight. Good luck to you.
Reply:Maybe it is from your feet sweating. I used to put baby powder in my athletic shoes to help the smell and for the sweat. You may also have a sensitivity to the fabric softener that you use too and when your pores open because of the heat in your shoe it may cause a reaction. You have an extra layer of skin on the bottom of your foot so it wouldn't effect it.
